Hydra Speed Rail Car Mounting Kit by Tilta

The Tilta Hydra Speed Rail Car Mounting Kit (the Hydra Alien Car Mounting System) was designed from the ground up to work with smaller gimbals, giving you a lightweight solution for car-mounted cinematography. It uses a highly customizable combination of dovetail-style plates and suction cups — each rated for a 50kg payload — so you can fine-tune the exact placement of your shot and hit almost any angle on a vehicle.

Stabilization

Highly elastic shock-absorbing silicone provides durability and less abrasion, while updated suction cup plungers create a stronger seal for improved security in colder weather. A shock-absorbing arm stabilizes the camera, a spring-loaded cradle head handles shots where the gimbal needs to flip upside down, and the included hydraulic dampening pole further steadies the arm when driving conditions are less than optimal.

Mounting positions

Front low-angle, side door low-angle, side door high-angle, rear corner, SUV rear, car roof, and car hood — when interconnected, the system supports high and low shooting angles across a wide range of car types and complex mounting surfaces.

Gimbal control and compatibility

The Hydra supports full wireless control of the DJI RS2 and RS3 Pro via Tilta's optional Remote Control Kit (sold separately), which lets you control your gimbal's settings plus your camera's record and photo functions over a wired or wireless connection, with a thumbstick for precise pan and tilt.

Compatible with the DJI RS2, RS3, RS3 Pro, Crane 3S, Ronin 4D, and any other gimbal that mounts via 1/4"-20 screws and powers via P-Tap or internally.

RS3 note: the newest generation of the RS3 gimbal is NOT compatible with the Security Attachment Bracket of the Power Supply Baseplate — contact us before ordering if you plan to fly an RS3.

Caution: we do not recommend using the suction cups on wrapped vehicles due to suction issues related to direct sunlight and heat.
